the rebbe maharash explains that doubling is the level of binah (understanding), which is the aspect of sovev kol almin (encompassing all worlds), where external forces have no grasp or nourishment, and therefore this is an aspect of redemption.

in the milui ban of the filled forms of the name of havaya, the filling of the letter hei is with an additional hei.

it is explained in chassidic teachings that the upper hei and lower hei are actually very different: the hei represents length, width, and expansion, and the upper length and width cannot directly flow downward. rather, it must first be constricted through the letter vav of the name of havaya, and then it can flow downward, from which the lower hei is formed.
