== Series Editing ==
Unlike most other Rebbeim (except for the Alter Rebbe) who wrote down their own Chassidic discourses, the Rebbe instructed that the Chassidim should do this themselves. Over the years, the chozrim and manichim (those who would memorize and transcribe the talks) wrote down hundreds of the Rebbe's discourses, but only a minority of them were edited by the Rebbe and given permission to be officially published with the Kehot Publication Society stamp.

This process continued for over thirty-five years, during which the Rebbe very rarely edited the discourses. In 1986, the Vaad L'Hafatzas Sichos decided there were enough discourses to publish a complete book, presenting in one place the discourses that had been printed in booklets over several decades. The book's editing was completed in winter 1987, and in Kislev the first volume of 'Sefer HaMaamarim - Melukot' was published. In the foreword submitted to the Rebbe for editing, two options were proposed: 'Likutei Maamarim' and 'Sefer HaMaamarim - Melukot'. The Rebbe crossed out the first option and kept the second, thus establishing the series' name.

== Sefer HaMaamarim Melukot - Kuntreisim 1993 ==
In 2012, Otzar HaChassidim through Kehot Publication Society published "Sefer HaMaamarim Melukot Kuntreisim-1993", containing four discourses that the Rebbe edited in 1993, included in three kuntreisim (pamphlets). In Elul 2022, it was published with decoded references and concept explanations by the Maarei Mekomos Decoding Committee.

== Series Publication ==
According to the 1981 arrangement, the Rebbe's edited talks were printed and mostly edited by Vaad L'Hafatzas Sichos. However, in 1987, when the Rebbe began editing talks weekly, a dispute arose as the talks were edited by Vaad Hanachos Hatmimim and Vaad Hanachos in Hebrew, but printed by Vaad L'Hafatzas Sichos.

== Redemption and Moshiach Collection ==
Sefer HaMaamarim Melukot on matters of redemption and Moshiach is a collection of discourses from Sefer HaMaamarim - Melukot that fully deal with matters of redemption and Moshiach. It was published by Vaad L'Hafatzas Sichos with assistance from the World Chabad Center for Greeting Moshiach.

== Series Editions ==
Over the years, several volumes of this series were published, arranged by their appearance in kuntreisim (pamphlets). In Elul 1992, the series was completed with the publication of the sixth volume, which included a detailed index edited by Rabbi Eliyahu Matusof. Since then, over eight photo editions of this series have been printed.

Towards the end of Adar 2024, a new edition of 'Sefer HaMaamarim - Melukot' was completed. In this new edition, all discourses were re-proofread and retyped. Additionally, the kuntreisim from early 1987 (from Rosh Hashanah onwards) that were previously printed in Volume 1, were now included in Volume 2 (while also remaining in their original location in Volume 1) along with other kuntreisim from 1987.

The set was published for Yud Kislev 2025.

== The Punctuated Edition ==
In 2021, after several years of editorial work, a new edition of 'Sefer HaMaamarim Melukot' was printed. In this edition, the discourses were re-proofread and retyped, including vowel points and expanded acronyms, to make them more accessible to readers. This edition was published for Hey Teves 2022.

After publishing the new edition, Vaad L'Hafatzas Sichos stopped printing the original edition of the set for about three years, until the new edition was printed in 2024.

== Arranged by Monthly Order ==
In 2002, another edition of this series was published by Vaad Hanachos in Hebrew, containing the same discourses in a new arrangement - according to the months of the year. The series was published under the name 'Toras Menachem - Sefer HaMaamarim - Melukot' and includes four volumes. This edition corrected several errors that appeared in the original six volumes.

However, after publication, the Crown Heights Beis Din and other rabbis issued a letter stating these books should not be purchased, as they were printed without authorization.

== Publication by Machon Peanuchim of Vaad L'Hafatzas Sichos ==
For Yud Alef Nissan 2022 - marking 120 years since the Rebbe's birth - Machon Peanuchim began publishing volumes of 'Sefer HaMaamarim - Melukot' with decoded references in the body of the book. They started with Volume 3 in two parts, and are currently working on Volume 5.

The work is done by students from Yeshiva Gedola Lubavitch Beit Shemesh, and undergoes careful proofreading by a team of rabbis led by Rabbi Moshe Kornwitz, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Friedman, and Rabbi Yisrael Nachman Lerner.

The series is published under the auspices of Vaad L'Hafatzas Sichos.

As an addition to each volume, some discourses from our Rebbeim, upon which some of the discourses in the book are based, are included. The final volume will include indices for all parts.

== Publication by Maarei Mekomos Decoding Committee ==
With Vaad L'Hafatzas Sichos' approval, the Maarei Mekomos Decoding Committee is publishing the 'Melukot' books with decoded references and concept explanations. They first published Volume 6, and then for Tishrei 2023, published all discourse pamphlets from 1993 (not included in the Sefer HaMaamarim Melukot series) as a separate book, with decoded references and concept explanations.
