== History ==
[[File:אבן הפינה לישיבה במייפל סטריט..jpg|thumb]]
The cornerstone ceremony for Ocean Parkway Rabbi Mordechai Dov Telishevsky (second from right) and the Rashag (fourth from right) at the cornerstone laying ceremony for the yeshiva at its originally planned location on Maple Street, on the outskirts of Crown Heights (5723/1963)
[[File:הנחת אבן פינה לאושן פארקוויי.jpg|thumb]]
Immediately upon the arrival of the Rebbe Rayatz to the shores of the United States, he declared that America is no different, and as a first action in this direction, he established Yeshivat Tomchei Tmimim on American soil.

In the early years of the yeshiva's founding, the yeshiva simultaneously used the first floor of the apartment purchased for the Rebbe Rayatz, his institutions, and activities in the 770 Eastern Parkway building, and in the building at the corner of Bedford-Dean Streets. As the yeshiva expanded, the yeshiva's director, Rabbi Shmaryahu Gurary, purchased a large area in southern Crown Heights on Maple Street with the intention of building a yeshiva on it, and in 5723/1963, a cornerstone laying ceremony was held for the yeshiva building.

In practice, the deteriorating condition of the Crown Heights neighborhood led to the abandonment of this plan, and instead, it was established in one of the central locations in the new Jewish neighborhoods, in the heart of Ocean Parkway Avenue, on the border of the Flatbush neighborhood.

In the initial period, the building served the children of Anash and those who were becoming close to Chabad, and later the institution took on the character of a yeshiva adapted for children who needed special academic advancement.

In recent years, a new administration was appointed to lead the institution, and it began to incorporate secular studies while appealing to the Chabad community interested in this approach. Currently, students of Talmud Torah age study at the institution, alongside kindergartens.
