Reb Chaim Cheikel was the brother-in-law of the Tzemach Tzedek and grandson of Reb Chaim Cheikel of Amdur, who was among the students of the Maggid of Mezritch.
Reb Chaim Cheikel married Rebbetzin Devorah - the paternal sister of the Tzemach Tzedek.

His daughter, Mrs. Beila, married Reb Yeshaya Horowitz from Bishenkowitz, who was among the chassidim of the Tzemach Tzedek.
His grandchildren included:
